For several winters the school had an area under the trees that regularly flooded and got very muddy.
A drain was fitted to take away the surface water that was gathering. The ground was then scrapped with a digger to allow 50 mm of limestone dust to form a base. This was compacted and levelled and nearly grass was installed.
The nearly grass was then dressed with a kiln dried sand to help with wear and tear and fire retardation. This 250m2 area took 7 days
