Flood damaged playground area reclaimed, Cheshunt, Hertforshire

on 10/6/12

An area under trees at Andrews Lane School had grown muddy and their roots were causing pupils problems. Basically the area could only be used during sustained dry weather. Hand Made Places designed a trim trail and surface to make a good save space for playing and sitting.

JWL Installs task was to construct the base for the Nearly Grass and fit equipment. The Play equipment was installed first and then the Grass area next to the playground had to be graded to bring its level up. A base MOT type 1 was placed around roots to make up the levels and then Limestone dust 26 ton was then laid and then compacted to create a smooth base to lay Nearly Grass upon. Then timber was placed around the edge of area for fixing Grass to and then the Playground edge was chase cut in. The whole job was completed and ready to use within 10 day.
